We're all born and then we grow up, the days of playing and being merry come and go in the blink of an eye as we mature into adults.
Our parents never forget what we look like, but it's quite easy for them to forget how small our hands and feet were as infants. When you invest in a memory this image never goes away.
By taking little snapshots here and there we collectively keep the memory of our growing up alive. Memory images become a part of how we are and what defines our childhood. Without these portraits upon which to reminisce we'll never have the chance to sit back with our loved ones and recall from whence we came.
When our own children are looking through the old family photo albums we want to be able to show them great grandmothers face or the old home place where we grew up.
Portraits link our past to today and serve as constant reminder of our future. We need to capture the memories while we can, because, someday, we'll want those images to help us recall our priceless memories.
